Acceptable Use Policy

Dottie is an open-source Matrix client you install on your own device. It has no central service — your conduct on Matrix is governed primarily by the terms of the homeserver you connect to. This policy covers reasonable use of the app itself.

Please do not use Dottie to

• break the law, or help anyone else do so;
• send spam, malware, or unsolicited bulk messages;
• harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate others;
• distribute child sexual abuse material or other clearly illegal content;
• infringe others' intellectual-property or privacy rights;
• attack, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to any service or network.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the content you send and for complying with the rules of your homeserver and of anyone you communicate with. Homeserver operators may enforce their own additional policies.

No warranty

Dottie is provided free and as-is, without warranty, under its open-source licence. The authors are not liable for how the app is used or for the conduct of any homeserver or user.
